In Matthew 28, Jesus spoke these words to His followers: 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
As a community we want to be faithful in responding to this calling that we have received. This summer, our family of churches is responding together to the Great Commission by engaging the Syrian refugee crisis. You can read more about this effort here.
There are 3 ways we can partner together as a church in this calling: Praying, Giving, Going.
Going: We are sending 5 short term teams to Europe this summer to minister and serve refugees. If you missed out on the sign up date to go, there are still meaningful ways to be involved.
Giving: Each team is responsible for raising their own funds for the work they are doing. This gives all of us an opportunity to sow financially into Engaging the Crisis. You can do that a few ways:
- Give Directly To The Trips: You can follow this link to donate directly to the trips
- Donate To The Garage Sale: We are having a garage sale to raise money for Engage the Crisis Interns. The interns will host the short-term teams and disciple refugees and Europeans that come to Jesus. These summer interns need to raise $7000 each. If you would like to donate items drop them off at the church April 29th from 4:00pm-7:00pm. The garage sale is Saturday April 30th from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM or whenever people stop coming or we run out of stuff.
- Burgers, Burritos & Crafts: On Sunday morning our Discipleship School students will be selling breakfast burritos, hamburgers and various crafts to raise money for their trip. Come hungry and give to a good cause.
Praying: We are building a prayer team who want to pray for the refugees and our teams serving them. If you would like to be added to that email list, you can do so here.
We are thankful that we can partner in this work together!
